A Penny For Your Thoughts

The boys have been cracking me up recently. I love hearing a little bit of what is going on in their heads.

BiggiE
-- I tend to have many nicknames for my children as I go about my day. One common one for Jelly Belly is "Little Miss". The other day BiggiE and I were getting in the car with Jelly Belly and I hear him chattering to her in a sing-song voice, "Little Mess, Little Mess, what are you doing, Little Mess?" I chuckled and thought that given all her spitting up BiggiE might be on the right track with that name.

-- I was explaining to the boys that Os's iPod had been stolen and they were filled with questions about the crime. My favorite was BiggiE's, "Was it an evildoer?"

Moose
-- Moose was asked to explain why his friend, Judah, was on the ground crying. In George Washington fashion he replied, "I'll tell the truth... I hate to say it, but I pushed him."

-- Moose and I were talking about school and how some people go to college after high school. I sagely told him that Os and I went to college after high school. "Yes," Moose agreed, "but that was a long, long, long time ago. Like back when the dinosaurs were around. That was like 59 years ago." Three "longs", mind you. Good thing I'm not feeling sensitive about my recent birthday!

-- Today when I asked Moose to do or not do something (watch The Mom Song if you need an idea of what I might have said) Moose looks at me and says, "I do declare, you are no fun at all." Ha, ha, but you, my little Southern beau, are very funNY.

Jelly Belly -- Four Months

Our little delight is four months old, weighing in at 10 lbs. 11 oz. and 23 inches long. She officially has reflux which is often over-diagonised, but I have suspected it from the beginning since she regularly loses half of what she has eaten.

The doctor and I weren't too concerned before because Jelly Belly never fussed about spitting up and she was gaining weight. Now her weight gain has tapered off which generally wouldn't happen until she was mobile. The peditrician is hesisitant to move to medicine (which I greatly appreciate) and Jelly Belly has been recently sick, so we decided to wait two more weeks and see what her weight gain it like.

Having a petite baby is new for us and I forget what a peanut she is until I see someone else holding her. Our neighbors just had a baby who was born weighing about what Jelly Belly does now. So sweet.

If you're going to San Francisco be sure to wear flowers...on your bald head...

I love our new Kangaroo Korner sling because it is adjustable and will grow with us.

Look For My Etsy Site

Moose and BiggiE have been sharing the arachnid love with Jelly Belly. Retailers beware! I think maybe I should start my own line of hair barrettes for little girls so all become entophiles;).
