Harvest Helpers 2011

One of my favorite parts of harvest is going up to the winery to help. The boys are at a point where they remember their jobs from the year before and take the work pretty seriously. Plus, if we time the trip with Uncle Drew's there will be delicious milkshakes.

I love this picture of three generations working at the sorting table (Moose, BiggiE, Os and Grandpere).


BiggiE is militant about not letting any leaves get past him. Jelly Bean was a scout, pointing and hollaring when she spotted a leaf. Moose was on task until he found a dead Blue Belly Lizard and then his interest in reptiles took over.


The 2011 vintage may have a little "Grandpere" note in the finished wine.
