The other day we were driving down our lane when a squirrel ran right in front of our car. This is the conversation that ensued:
Me: Watch out, you stupid squirrel!
Jelly Belly: Mama, why did you say that? He's just a little squirrel.
BiggiE: Yea, Mama. Why did you use the "S" word. He can't help it. Squirrels don't have very big brains.
I chuckled inside at their passionate defense of the squirrel and treasured the fact at for now the "S" word is still "stupid".
