Last night we went to an anniversary party for our friends, Dave and Pam, to celebrate their twelve years together. There was sparkling wine, dessert, a snake (I won't go into the details here, but if you know me you can empathize) and lots of kids for the boys to play with. Toward the end of the party we noticed Moose was making some mean faces at another little boy. On the drive home we started talking about it. I confess that I was a little off track in the discussion and was relieved when Tyler said, "Moose, we're not that concerned about a mean face, but are most concerned about a mean heart." Moose confessed that sometimes he "had a mean face on his heart" when he was angry. Tyler said he did, too, somethimes. I said that I did as well and that's why we all need Jesus.
